The Friends of the Oklawaha Greenway envision a future where an extended Greenway corridor improves the quality of life for all Henderson County residents and their visitors. We strive to build upon the current Oklawaha Greenway so that people can more actively connect to their parks, schools, shops, work places, and each other.
As a next phase, the Friends group is actively working with County officials, landowners, and other stakeholders to explore possibilities for extending the Greenway through Jackson Park and then connecting it to the campus of Blue Ridge Community College in Flat Rock. Eventually, we hope to see the Greenway extended north through Berkeley Mills Park, and then on toward parks in Fletcher.
